In this brewing course  you learn what the separation of the filtration elements consists of. You will learn about the different methods of separating the liquid wort from the residues of the raw materials and how the raw material influence this process. You will also learn the physical and chemical parameters that influence this process and how to optimize them.  The operation of the main wort filter systems through the lauter tun and the plate filter is explained. The details of these two systems are explained with their respective advantages and disadvantages and the two systems are compared. The main control parameters for a good operation and possible failures will also be explained.
